Why, hello.
We are offhour, a small, independent design and engineering studio based in Seattle. Two principals, a rotating bench of trusted collaborators, and a strong opinion that the best work happens when no one is watching.

Philosophy
We started offhour because we were tired of seeing good ideas get lost in big-agency machinery. We wanted to work directly, founder to maker, and build things that feel considered, not produced.
The name came from the hours we actually get things done: after the meetings, after the commute, when it’s just you and the work. That energy, focused, unhurried, intentional, is what we try to bring to everything we touch.
Team
Jordan Hale
Design & direction
Formerly at Pentagram, Instrument, and a handful of startups that moved fast enough to keep things interesting. Type-obsessed, motion-curious, allergic to gradients.
Riley Chen
Engineering & product
Ex-Vercel, ex-Stripe. Writes the code, questions the spec, ships the thing. Believes design systems should fit on one page and build scripts should finish before coffee gets cold.
Values
- 01
Quiet over loud.
We let the work speak. No pitch decks with 60 slides, no jargon walls. Clear thinking, clearly presented.
- 02
Senior by default.
No hand-offs to juniors. The people in the room are the people doing the work. Small teams, high trust.
- 03
Ship, then polish.
We believe in live work over infinite iteration. Get it real, get it measured, then make it better.
- 04
Honest always.
If something isn’t worth building, we’ll tell you. If a deadline is unrealistic, we’ll say so upfront.
